Tip: Book a Guided Tour prior to your visit to Vatican City.
We booked a Guided Tour with City Wonders during our visit to the Vatican City Museums. This is the fastest way to get into the Museums without waiting on line; and lines are alway the case at the Vaticans. Also, listening to a guide about the history and the story behind each piece in the museum helps to understand the artistry of the Vatican City.
Good To Know: No photography allowed in Sistine Chapel that holds the famous ceiling painted by Michelangelo. Take as much time as possible to observe the masterpiece while you are there.
“ Vatican City, a city-state surrounded by Rome, Italy, is the headquarters of the Roman Catholic Church. It's home to the Pope and a trove of iconic art and architecture. Its Vatican Museums house ancient Roman sculptures such as the famed “Laocoön and His Sons” as well as Renaissance frescoes in the Raphael Rooms and the Sistine Chapel, famous for Michelangelo’s ceiling.” - Google
