On the last day of Restaurant Week 2015, we had the opportunity to snag the coveted reservation spot at Nougatine at Jean-Georges. As we were walking into the restaurant, we were greeted by the restaurant's luxurious setting and friendly staff. With our past experiences with Jean-Georges cuisine and the many accolades given to Jean-Georges, our expectations were high as we were both excited to taste the cuisine that this restaurant had to offer.
Given that it was restaurant week, we decided to order all the available options for restaurant week to see what special dishes the great Jean-Georges was able to whip for this yearly event. This restaurant is on the pricier-side so coming here on restaurant week gives more people the opportunity to try out its food. Unfortunately, this also means that the dishes on the restaurant week menu may be of lesser quality than that of the regular offerings. With this in mind, onto the food!
Aside from the Arugula and Beet salad, which was not too special, we thought the food was great overall. We noticed the interplay between differing flavors come through the dishes - it almost seemed like the chef was experimenting with new flavors to incorporate into the main menu. This made us believe that the offerings of restaurant week are rough drafts of what is to come in the future of Nougatine. Call us romantic, but we found this to be neat because we felt like we were contributing to the evolution of the restaurant and the even better things that are to come!

After a satisfying dinner at Nougatine, we walked over to Lincoln Center which resides just a couple blocks away from Nougatine. It is a relatively relaxing spot to sit and enjoy the fountain situated in the middle of the square while digging into scoops of gelato. What a perfect summer date night!
