Sukiyaki is a Japanese hot pot style dish that is prepared usually with thinly sliced beef that is slowly cooked or simmered alongside vegetables and other ingredients. It is prepared in a shallow iron pot in Sukiyaki sauce which is a mixture of soy sauce, sugar, and mirin. After being cooked, the ingredients are enjoyed usually after dipping in a small bowl of raw, beaten eggs.

When the weather starts to get colder, you know it's time for home-cooked hot pot meals! We found most of the Japanese ingredients - Kikkoman Sukiyaki Sauce and Fish Cakes - at the Mitsuwa Marketplace. When searching for your own ingredients for your homemade Sukiyaki, you will most likely not have any trouble finding the needed ingredients at any Asian supermarket. The only reason we chose to go to Mitsuwa is because they also serve amazing Matcha Love Soft Serve ice cream!
